Lauren Oliver has published two young adult novels Before I Fall (2010) and Delirium (2011). In 2011, it was revealed that Oliver's middle grade book, Liesl and Po, was scheduled for release on September 1, 2011. Fox 2000 has optioned the rights to Lauren Oliver's New York Times bestselling young adult debut novel Before I Fall.
Oliver's first book, Before I Fall, was published on March 2, 2010, by HarperCollins. The book is about a teenage girl, Samantha, who has to go through the last day of her life seven times, each time learning new values and the mysteries surrounding her death. Oliver claims to have written all of it on her BlackBerry while going to meetings on the subway. She'd e-mail herself the chapters to later work on them some more.This book is also being optioned to be made into a movie by Fox 2000.[1]
Her second book, Delirium, is the first in her Dystopian trilogy. It tells the story of a society where love has been considered a disease and everyone has to go through a special treatment on their eighteenth birthday to be cured of the illness. The book's protagonist, Lena, meets a boy who shows her not everything is as it seems.
The trilogy's second book, Pandemonium, is scheduled to be released on February 2012, while the third book, Requiem, will be published on February 2013. This book is optioned to become a movie, by Fox 2000.[2]
Oliver's first MG book, about a girl who is visited by a ghost that tells her her dead father is stuck on Limbo and that only she can help him cross over, will be published September 1, 2011.[3]
